Family Fishing, Archery and Lunch for Operation TBI, Freedom Hunters and Craig Hospital

It’s a beautiful warm Colorado fall day for fishing and archery, we have Wounded Warriors, Craig Hospital patients, alumni and family members. We have many ponds and boats so we will fish the banks and paddle around to cover a little more area. Everyone is having a great time whether they are catching fish or just enjoying the scenery. Many children and adults are also having fun at the archery range.

At mid-day we head to the barn for a special lunch donated by the Escoffier Culinary Academy from Boulder. They have been working with us through out the season. After lunch it is back to the ponds and archery range. It’s been a wonderful day for all. A big thanks to Austin Brown from Colderweather, Ashlen from Escoffier Culinary Academy and all the groups that participated today.

Operation TBI, Freedom Hunters and Craig Hospital

It’s a cool Colorado morning in the mountains. The creek and ponds are crystal clear, and the fish are active. We have a group of Wounded Vets and Craig Hospital patients ready to try their luck at fly fishing. Most are beginners and will receive instruction from the staff of Lincoln Hills; but, first we have coffee and pastries. Then we break into groups for the basic instructions, and after that it is down to the creek and ponds.

We hookup with some big trout, some are landed and some escape. Everyone is smiling and having a great time. After a few hours we head up to the clubhouse deck and are treated to a great lunch and of course the traditional fish stories. A great day thanks to the Lincoln Hills staff.

The river is perfect, the temperature is perfect and so are the Colorado mountains. We are at Lincoln Hills Fly Fishing Club and the Anglers of Honor Program. We have a great group of Wounded Warriors and Craig Hospital patients along with family members and staff. We also have the Escoffier Culinary Academy cooking lunch for us.

We start with the fundamentals of fly fishing, we have one to one guide to participant for the river and ponds.  We have the best of everything, we hit the river and start catching fish the size of cars! At midday we head up to the deck overlooking one of the ponds and are treated to an amazing lunch. It’s a great day for everyone and a big thanks to Lincoln Hills and all the volunteers.
